Training is intended to acquaint a new Facility user with Facility personnel, and the tools, techniques, and skills needed to develop the proficiency required to successfully achieve a specialized research investigative goal.

Training usually starts from registration with us at on-line booking. An active index number is needed during registration. After registration and logging-in, "Request for Training" can be sent to the instrument managers. Training will be scheduled after we receive notice of "Request for Training".

In most cases, three two-hour sessions will be scheduled. In the first session, instrument managers will introduce the instrument for the first hour; the trainee will spend the other hour familiarizing with the instrument. In the second session, the instrument managers will address in more detail how to get sharp, crisp images. During the first two training sessions, a standard sample is used. In the third session, trainees may use their own samples for practice.

After training, trainees become users and will be able to access the instrument during working hours (9 am - 5 pm) under supervision. Depending on situations, we will authorize users to access the instrument on an 8 hour-base or 24 hour-base.
